            Caring for your printing media

Choosing the best printing material for your requirements is the first step in ensuring good print quality.

Always store your printing material in a cool, dry place. Keep the media in its original bag and box.

Environment
Extreme temperatures and humidity may affect print quality. Best results are achieved at temperatures between 50oF and 85oF and with 20-80% relative humidity.

Use caution when printing high density images on coated papers in dry conditions (less than 35% relative humidity) as sudden saturation could cause dry paper to buckle and even damage the print cartridges.

Dry Time
To achieve best print finish, allow prints to dry for at least 10 minutes and up to 45 minutes before handling. Dry time is relative to environmental conditions and to the density of the print.

Lamination
Wait at least 30 minutes after printing to laminate prints, 24 hours is often recommended. Lamination is also affected with environmental conditions: room temperatures of 40oF to 100oF and humidity below 60% are best.

Film and Photographic Media
When handling film and photographic media, handle by the edges or wear cotton gloves. Skin oils can interact with ink and cause it to smear. Avoid folding and excessive handling before and after printing to prevent damage to coating.
